Calling All Nakamas, One Piece Remake Is Confirmed by WIT STUDIO And Netflix

As a legendary anime, One Piece has a big global fanbase and 2023 has been an exciting year for Nakama. From the transformation of Gear 5 Luffy to the successful One Piece Live Action, Nakama has had plenty to celebrate.
Now, the anticipation continues as a new project is revealed, the remake animation. It was confirmed via One Piece’s official Twitter account. “New production of The One Piece has already decided with WIT STUDIO,” said @Eiichiro_Staff.
In celebration of One Piece’s 25th anniversary, the trailer teases fans of the upcoming remake. “The legend that began 25 years ago. Spread far and wide across the globe in this interconnected world. Let's embark on a journey once again. Get ready for a fresh new remake produced by WIT STUDIO coming to Netflix,” said the narration.
Despite the excitement, there is no detailed information about dates, voice actors, or staff. We only know that the remake of One Piece anime is going to be produced with a new animation team.
The decision by Netflix to remake One Piece anime after the Live Action project may be shocking, especially since the anime itself hasn't finished yet. This move while surprising, could be seen as a strategic way to embrace and increase the popularity of One Piece.
Toei Animation, the studio behind One Piece, still has done a great job producing anime since episode one in 1999. In the end as Nakama, we can only trust that WIT STUDIO will make a huge epic remake for our beloved anime series.
